Leica Q3 43

Thanx for that YouTube link! I'm deeply integrated in Apple stuff, and I live in Netherlands so, it probably will come here too.... I'm on an iPhone 12 mini still, got my battery replaced so it is actually like new. It runs the latest iOS so I see no reason to upgrade anytime soon. I had a Pixel 8 last year for a while as backup phone because my provider had troubles with an iOS update. But shocked to find out that my feb. 2021 phone was faster in almost any task then a then current gen Pixel 8. Only the camera of the pixel was slightly better. (or must I say, different).
Yeah... I have an iPhone 13 mini because I like smaller phones and want to stay on one as long as possible, and honestly haven't seen all that much to tempt me to upgrade. That said, every attempt I know of at a super-cameraphone - Nokia made several, Panasonic made the Lumix CM1, Samsung's made a couple of hybrid camera/phones, Huawei and Xiaomi partnered with Leica on phones - has been a flop, or at best a nonentity. To me, smartphones have taken over the role of the snapshot camera; simple point-and-shoot models like the instamatic or 110, used by non-photographers and in situations where a full camera rig isn't workable, but not a replacement for a full camera rig.
But that Oppo might make me sell the GR3, although I really don't like all that computational stuff behind closed doors what makes a phone picture look artificial and unrealistic.
Yeah... computational photography has its advantages, but it's not a replacement for a large sensor and a good lens.

I still have my Coolpix A, Nikon's take on the APS-C compact from a decade ago; I sometimes wonder why they didn't keep developing it in competition with the GR series. It suffered from lacking a viewfinder, but was otherwise a pretty nice camera.

Wanna talk old-school? iPhone 8 Plus here. I couldn't care less about the camera; I bought an S5 for that.

The LUMIX, on the other hand, makes horrible phone calls.

I do not need 3 or 4 different systems anymore. AF and sensor technology is more or less the same for my use cases. No need for a Nikon AF anymore. The size of fullframe is decreasing (bodies and lenses), the size of Fuji X and MFT is increasing.

My thought behind the Leica Q3 43 is, that if I really want to use a small only, but do not want to use a smartphone, I have then a Leica Q3 43 and GR3/GR3x. For other situations I will use L-Mount with Sigma i-series lenses.
This is a very sound opinion Daumenhoch Smilie
The most practical approach for a creative photog.
Just, some very creative artists generate, and use many different systems.
