...yikes.

I would not feel at all comfortable putting one of those on my sensor.

Looks to me like it's 4-5mm away from the sensor. I think so long as you're careful fitting it then it should be pretty risk free.

I could be tempted. It would mean I could use a 10-stop ND with my TTArtisan fisheye. Prices are not crazy either.

Oh yes.

I will contact Kolari to clarify of the clip in works with my FP too. I guess so, but better to be safe.
Before the article website went online I was told, that it shall fit. But I am confused now.

The filters are not attached or in contact with the glass in front of the sensor. Instead a magnetic mounting plate needs to be installed around the hole in which the sensor sits. The filter is attached against this mounting plate.
Here is the link to the order form for the Nikon Z mounting plate. You will immediately see by the picture where this need to be installed (glued?) to:
https://kolarivision.com/product/kolari-vision-magnetic-mounting-plate-for-nikon-clip-in-filters/

This actually a really neat system. Because is allows to used a full spectrum camera with a
- clip in cut off filter as a normal camera
- clip in IR filter as a infrared camera (wave length according to the selected filter)
- clip in fiilter UV as a pure UV camera

According my experience Kolarivision offers quite good glas and coatings.

Only point to be careful is, if there might be lenses with a back element going to deep into the camera and then getting in contact with the filter.
I do have some old lenses with a back element moving quite a distance when focusing….

I did not recognized something dramatically with the L mount lenses I have so far, but better to check this carefully in advance.

That's part of it; the other part is I really don't like gluing something inside my camera. Even if it is a few mm in front of the sensor. ^^;;

Also another part are the magnetic properties themselves.
Me myself have my reservations by mounting magnetic parts at such close distances to the sensor and / or IBIS functionality of a camera.
In spite within the video "Kolari" state it has no influence.

I am more interested by what Panasonic itself shall state when a user ask "them".

I’m sure they would not approve it. It only opens the doors for someone to break something and then claim on Panasonic because “they said it was OK”.
