While divesting of my S gear to fund surgery expenses, I was offered an a7.3 at a chill price. Yay, a system with small 3rd party primes actually available and not just shipping AnyDayNow.
I picked up body, 28-60 and Viltroxi 20+40.. and..

Ugh.
I can honestly say the alphas are technically proficient at making full frame images. For myself i can honestly say: I'm bored. Just two aspect ratios and my two least favorite. No out of cam Wow! shots like the s5 provided. Wrong, wrong.

I'm back to plan A by selling out of ff and will enjoy my e-M1b while medical bills are worked out. Then it's back to Lumix S in some form! Maybe by then those s9-scale small lenses will be more than press releases..

I've heard similar comments from others about Sony cameras. One YouTuber I watch referred to his Sony A7RV as "soulless" and lacked character but also said that it takes very good images. I've never used one so I don't quite understand but it's interesting nonetheless.

Yes, it would be good to see a few pancake style autofocus lenses for the S9. It's possible that Samyang or TTArtisan may release smaller AF L-mount lenses first.
