Hello all I have recently joined the forum although I have visited as a guest on a few occasions. I am now retired and hope to get out and about with my camera more often than previously.
I have previously used Nikon and Fuji but I purchased a Lumix S9 about a year ago. The camera is very capable but I miss the viewfinder and have now purchased a Lumix S5iix which arrived a few days ago. My intention was to sell the Lumix S9 & 18-40 lens and purchase a new lens but I'm inclined to hang on to them for the time being and see if I can justify owning both cameras!
I also have a Viltrox EF-L adaptor and a Canon 100mm f2.8 lens which works nicely for macro shots.
I'm looking to purchase some vintage glass and will read the appropriate threads.
I'm also looking to learn videography.
All the best Andrew

Greetings! Glad to meet you.

What kind of stuff do you enjoy shooting? Look forward to pics.

I very much get it about missing the viewfinder. I do suggest giving it a little time to see if the size difference is notable to you; I keep both a Sigma fp and Lumix S5, because I find the fp kit much easier to carry around (and therefore more likely to be used).

Thanks for your reply. I shoot all sorts really but live in the countryside close to the sea with some nice villages and towns for street photography. I'll get out and do some shooting and post a few on here.

Welcome! Where in Wales do you live? For sure lots of beautiful scenery on your doorstep. I'm over in the midlands (Leamington), but get over to Wales from time to time.

I think you did the right thing in getting an S5ii. The lack of an EVF is (IMHO) a complete red line for many photography genres. I'm sure for video work though that the S9 is a great solution.
