I start this thread for all members who do sports photography with the S1Rii / S1II /S1IIe. Feel free to add your images in this thread.

Here are some images made with the Lumix S1Rii and the Sigma 70-200/2.8 DG DN OS Sports of yesterday in field hockey.

I am really happy with this combination. The crop capability helps a lot to get better shots if you need longer than 200mm.

I do the crop in post only. That is more convenient for me and I am able to act faster on the field.

AF tracking as described in the other thread works well.

I really like the colours and the viewfinder of the S1Rii, by the way...

All images above are Jpeg Fine ooc. Sometimes cropped.

Nice! I am also very happy with the S1Rii.
I would really recommend that you try turning on hybrid zoom. It’s fantastic. You retain the full RAW regardless (but it’s pre cropped in LR when you open it) and it’s so seamless.

I tried that, but the zoom range is then too much during the game. With hybrid zoom I had the feeling that I am not as fast as with normal zoom to react. I am an amateur, maybe this changes over the time the more I practice it, but at the moment I lost too many good situations because I lost too much time with re-framing when enabling hybrid zoom vs. normal zoom range.

You can adjust the amount hybrid zoom amount in the settings. I find that in the smallest setting when it adds up to 1.4x is really nice. It also means the final resolution is still as good as that of a 24MP sensor.
