I had Fuji FX for a long time, then added GFX 50R (with GF 35-70mm and GF 50mm f3.5) for more "serious" work. Then decided to sell both systems and go with Lumix. Had the S5 and then S1 R ll with the Sigma 24mm, 35mm, and 50mm contemporary lenses. Excellent IQ!
I crop all my images to 4:3 (same as GFX) even with the 3:2 Lumix S cameras - see: https://www.instagram.com/erikannis/
That crop and the fact that I don't do video, made me think the Lumix S1 R ll was overkill for me.
I was able to do an even swap for the Lumix S1 R ll (price-wise) when I bought a used GFX 50Sii. I did lose a lot of $ when selling my Sigma lenses in this process.
Now I am kind of back to the beginning now with a GFX 50Sii and a GF 50mm 3.5 lens. I just love that GFX 50MP sensor, and worry Fuji won't do another "low" res GFX body!
I do have a Minolta MC 58mm 1.4 with GFX adapter for portraits, and a Fuji X-T1 w/ XF 18mm f2 lens for a small walk around.
I tried the GF 30mm 3.5 prime, but my used copy had issues, so I just returned it this week. I am trying to decide whether to buy a wider option, or if I will try to standardize on the GF 50mm 3.5, which should work well for most of my work.
The reality is that I shouldn't worry about it, I can do my work on any of the cameras mentioned above! But I do like nerding out about new gear!
