Saturday night was cruise night. Or evening. It ran well into the night anyway. Had a blast

... looks like it was a sweet Summer evening at the corner of Hesse & Hobson Streets in Queenscliff, VIC, Australia! So jealous of your current weather (we're having the upside-down-world version now -- cold/rain/sleet)! Cheers. :)
Yes, it was a gorgeous evening. Weather/temperature was perfect. At a guess I'd say around 26°C, no wind, just beautiful.

On Saturday evening we went to see a fireworks show to celebrate the Chinese new year. I shot exclusively with the Sigma 24mm f/2 wide open, hand held at 1/4s, which was mostly enough to get shots without camera shake.
I've shot fireworks once (but than with video):

Its incredible how the Lumix camera's can film this without noise (if you know what to do, link starts at the beginning of the fireworks):

I think I had noise reduction at +3 or +4 and reduced the exposure of the shadows in post, both of which will have reduced noise.

I shot this video just in the second base-ISO (4000 ISO), in V-log.

(I know, i'm comparing apples with oranges Z04 Kaputtlachen)

So, I felt kinda bad about posting non-L pics in January's thread, so I went back and was able to find Sigma fp shots from the same locations...

Sigma fp, Minolta MD 35-70/3.5 Macro - this one is in the running for my favorite lens of all time, not just 2024.

...and even a little identifier if you want to look it up! (https://maps.app.goo.gl/DZmmCpwmpmsDBtW76)

Looking the other way.

And the MD 24-50/4, another nice one though not quite as versatile as the 35-70.

Finally, from a trip a couple of weeks later:

Sigma fp, back to the MD 35-70; this was documenting the dried lake bed at https://maps.app.goo.gl/q2bsfyRTQGomKQDz8 (thankfully, it's filled back up some since then.)

This beauty, a feral and ownerless cat, has been coming to the terrace of our house so often that we have decided to adopt her.

Although she is still free, she now comes 3 or 4 times a day so we can give her food. Any day now she will come with little kittens because she is not neutered...

By the way, this photo titled "Catwalk" has made it to Flickr "in explore" group:

Fantastic use of the fast portrait prime Xavier. Remember the cameras without eye-detect AF?

I nearly bought the 85mm in a S5ii combo, maybe get it someday.

Thank you! Yes, the 85mm f1.8 is very good. I like it a lot and not only for portraits.

This morning we had the 1st snowfall of the season. Just a light dusting, and it's already melted. The wide is via the Lumix S 50mm f1.8. The close-up is via my old Nikkor 70-210mm f4.5-5.6 zoom, at about 200mm, f11. Both through my living room window (yes, I am very lazy). :)

This one is the raw converted to jpg (to be able to be posted here in the forum)

And this one is the same photo with the hybrid zoom (218mm)

I think the quality is ok for social media content
