Visiting family in Northland, Kerikeri area, then down to the Bay of Plenty, Tauranga, Katikati, Rotorua areas. Pretty flexible with plans, we'll just see what happens. Sitting in the airport right now, flying is a painful way to travel as far as all the sitting around goes, hopefully we're in the air in the next 15 minutes. Doesn't look too hopeful though
Tauranga has a beautiful harbor. We were there during a cruise in 2013. I snapped this with my old GH3. We thoroughly enjoyed our all-too-brief vacation in New Zealand. Looking forward to seeing your photos!

That's Pilot bay, Mt Maunganui on the left, with the entrance just out of view to the left of that again :) It is indeed a beautiful spot. Internet is a little bit slow where we are, currently up North, but I'll post some shots for sure. My Uncle used to skipper the barge that transported all the logging trucks and associated gear over to Matakana island, just to the left of the entrance. It was a fabulous day out, sitting up in the wheelhouse with him for a few hours on a nice day, ferrying gear back and forward to the island

That's a wonderful memory about your day with your Uncle. Our cruise ship sailed past Matakana island on our way in & out of the harbor.

The hot springs at the Whakarewarewa Thermal Reserve near Rotorua, NZ are fantastic. The surrounding trees & plants are so different (tropical) compared to volcanic/hot springs areas in the Pacific NW USA.

Took a couple of shots downtown this evening, while on the way to meet a friend for supper. I thought about limbering up the wide-aperature Sigma lens, but the Lumix 20-60mm kit lens is still impressing me. Not too shabby for shooting hand-held with the IS turned off.

This is the State of Michigan's official Christmas Tree, at the T-intersection of Michigan and Capitol Avenues in front of the State Capitol.

We've been accused of having big balls, here in the Great Lakes State. They live in the center of a roundabout, a block away from the Capitol.

That's a nice present Xavier, I've done zero photography since October. I used to do quite a bit of B&W film photography and all the processing. Still have all the equipment and even film in the fridge.

I still have 100's of negatives I have never scanned or printed but know there are some good ones there including a Halloween party which would bring back memories.

I like Trent Parke's stuff, real arty photography... Definitely art, not a banana on a wall.

A bit of Boxing day fun. My daughter dug some holes, I filled them in :D:D

I finally found time to get out for some train photography, my favourite thing to shoot. I went to one of my favourite places, the regional town of Moss Vale which is a 90 minute drive from Sydney. It was a hot day too, a high of 31 degrees celsius mid-afternoon.

This is Pacific National's train #2120 heading north.
