I sort of re-discovered Jeffrey Friedl's "JF Data Plot" plugin for Lightroom. For those who don't know it, it's a little plugin that gives interesting analysis of focal length, aperture etc. I ran my 2025 photos through it and these are the results. Might be interesting to see others' usage.
Focal length:
Aperture:
ISO:
Shutter speed:
EV value:
So, highlights for me:
- 63% of my shots are at 50mm or wider. 48% are wider than 48mm and 20% are wider than 24mm
- Around 35mm seems my favourite focal length
- 75% are f8 or smaller aperture
- 70% are at base ISO, and only 5% are at ISOs over 1600
- The EV range shows an almost classic Maxwell-Boltzwell disribution (!!) with EV 12 being the most common (equiv to 1/60s at f8 at ISO 100)
I guess none of that is too surprising given what I take photos of!!
