Setting up the Lumix S9 for Photo and Video

There are almost an unlimited number of ways to set up a Lumix camera. Because the S9 has a smaller number of buttons and knobs, and because it has some functions other Lumix cameras don't have, customizing it can be different, and this thread is intended to discuss that. I'll start with my custom settings. The intent is to operate the camera in both the Photo and Video modes without going into the menus. In this list the Menu items are Underlined, and the Settings are in Bold.

Thanks CharlesH for sharing your camera setup. I’ve been going through the S9 settings and the variety is a bit overwhelming. I plan to review your settings to see what may work well for me. Thanks again. And I welcome anyone else’s contributions to this subject.

Thanks Charles. When I get time I will work through these to see if I can improve my setup.

I made a change already. For the Fn Buttons I swapped out the Luminance Spot Meter on Fn2 for Sound Rec. Level Disp. This is a more practical use of this button.
