News New AF lenses from 7Artisans

7Artisans shows a total of six AF lenses on the IBC shoe in Amsterdam. 24mm, 35mm, 50mm and 85mm in f1.8 are very common primes. 35mm are also available in a smaller package as f2.8, as well as a 40mm.

There will be available in E-, Z- and L-Mount. The 50mm is already available for Sony E and Nikon Z for 228 €. No about price and availability for the other lenses and L-Mount.

For some reason, they do not want to make a 28(30)mm compact with an aperture of 2.5, say. But there are two versions of 35mm and 24mm, which are in bulk on the market.

The lack of standard 28/2.8 lenses remains a mystery. Thankfully I own a dozen from the vintage era. Obviously not AF, however.

Well finally - some lenses that are genuinely compact. From the looks of it I'll be ordering the 40mm, dependent on decent firmware and good reviews of course. Underneath it says it's f/2.8 but the lens itself clearly shows f/2.5 - any other info to suggest which one is correct?

The others, if nothing else, will considerably lower the price for obtaining those focal lengths in the L-mount system, which can only be a good thing.

I wonder when they'll be available.

Any update on when any of these will be released?

I asked the official 7artisans store on Aliexpress about the l-mount in new lenses, in particular 85/1.8. I was told that there is no such version. ) It probably won't be on other lenses either.
p/s The question was also asked on the company's official page. There is no answer yet.

There are definitely coming. Already back in August, there was a picture circulating that showed a AF 7Artisans lens with f1.8 on a Lumix S9:

The article was assuming it would be the 35/1.4 APS-C lens from 7Artisans, because it's one of the next rumored lenses from them. But the screen shows f1.8 and that would fit to the picture from the IBC show.

However, I don't think the customer service from online stores, even if operated by the manufacturer, are good sources. The chances are very high that there just don't get the information early or if the do, they probably are not allowed to share that information.
