What are your recommended Lumix S1Rii low light autofocus settings for still photography? I have heard that since the megapixels are higher, and the photosites are smaller, the 44mp S1Rii performs worse in low light than the 24mp S5ii.

Has anyone experienced this, and if so what did you do to get the best autofocus results with your S1Rii?

I don't have an S5ii any longer, but I've no complaints with the S1Rii's AF, even in poor light. But then again, my AF needs are simple.

Thanks, I also read that people were having focus issues in low light with the S1Rii and 3rd party lenses (especially the Samyang). I was considering the TTArtisan AF 75mm F2; but will instead stick with Lumix or Sigma. All 3 of my current lenses are Sigma.

I’ll also add that I usually use SAF with pinpoint AF (magnified cross-hair style feature). In low light though, I find it’s slower than 1-area AF.

S5II to S1RII user here that often photographs in low light situations - S1RII's AF is more reliable in low light vs. the S5II. It masters normal low light situations like a champ but even more extreme situations (let's just say I don't use HSS and I shoot indoors flash photography wide-open with very fast lenses... I kinda have to kill ambient light to make F1.2 1/250 work...) are better handled with my S1RII.
