Canon EF 40mm f2.8 Pancake

This tiny little lens knocks my socks off every time I use it, for what comes out of it when considering its size, weight & cost. I use mine a little bit on my S5 with the Viltrox EF to L mount adapter. AF is pretty reasonable, even on slower moving subjects. It's had a fair old turn of usage, used on my Canon 550D originally, then EOSM on an adapter, then my 6D, & now on my S5 with adapter again :) For some unfathomable reason, it seems to regularly produce images with a great deal of depth, or 3D look to them. Hard to explain, it just does to my eye.

Very cool! I do the same with my DA40 pancake from Pentax. Just to be sure the edges are decent, I shoot it at 4:3 aspect ratio, as it's designed for aps-c. Mine is the xs ultra pancake not the Limited version with the same optics.

The bonus of the EF40mm is that it's a 35mm format designed lens. I actually think it's sharper and just plain better on my S5 than it ever was on my 6D. Perhaps something to do with a lack of AA filter maybe? I don't know.
I probably used it more on my APS-C camera's, as I'm quite the fan of the 60mm FOV. I still marvel at just how nice it is every time I use it, when looking at the tiny little fingernail sized lens elements in it.
