I love a back road so decided to start a thread and share a few photos.

These shots were taken about a year ago on a back road between the Great Western Highway on the other side of the Blue Mountains and the town of Lithgow.

.... pop against the rocks.
This really shows southeastern Utah.:) I would bet quite a bit I've been over those back roads more than anyone on this forum. With my father. And with my Father-in-Law who lived in Moab and then Blanding. And my sister and her family in Blanding. And my own trekking. There is hardly any place I'd rather be than on those red dirt roads.

I bet you have some great memories from that area, Charles. I tend to agree with you about the SW - in fact, when I took the job in Boulder (which caused me to move from Oregon to Colorado 6 years ago) I chose that job over two others because it put me closer to the SW. I’m actively scheming as to how I can spend even more time there.

I got lucky a few years ago and got to see Arches on a winter morning (with very low crowds!) while there was snow on the ground - it was amazing.

If you ever get back to the area, let me know! It would be fun to hang out there, and commit some acts of photography.
