News New Lens roadmap October 24 by Panasonic

Panasonic just updated there roadmap. There are only small changes to the roadmap from may we discussed here: https://l-mount-forum.com/community/threads/new-lens-roadmap-may-2024.535/

The 18-40 is now marked grey instead of blue, as it is now available.
And the fast Standard Zoom has been moved to the left. What looked like a 28-75 in the last roadmap now looks more like a 24-60.
The telephoto Zoom lens looks still the same, like a 100-500 (or more like a 90-500).

Nothing of interest to me in the new version ! But thanks for posting.

Both those proposals most likely lightweight, relatively small and slower?

24-60 seems odd given what's already available, maybe a constant f4 or an even slower smaller version of 20-60 similar in idea to the new 18-40? What else could you do with it? An f1.8? Haha ;)

Or are they going to do a Canon 100-500 f4.5-7.1? I'd love to see them making sports lenses like these for only 1.5kg. We have the Sigma 60-600 f4.5-6.3 but that is 2.5kg and a proper monster.

Maybe my initial thought of a f5.6 - f9 or something, affordable and lightweight for travel, safari or similar? For sure they are the kings of lightweight and small recently doing amazing releases such as the 100mm macro and 18-40 so I'd imagine this is the idea again, and it is increasingly popular as compared to monster lenses, i.e there is a much bigger market for this stuff and certainly within L-mount.

It's actually called "fast" standard on it. So it's most likely a smaller alternative to the 24-70/2.8 still with constant 2.8 or it's gonna be even faster with f2 or 1.8. Panasonic isn't a stranger to very fast zoom lenses. There 10-25 f1.7 and 25-50 F1.7 are two of the best zoom lenses in the m43 system.

One Panasonic official gave some hints about the Super-Telephoto in an interview. He called it "professional" and said it's gonna be surprisingly light weight.

We will see. Hopefully in the neer future.

But still. The roadmap doesn't mean there couldn't be any other lens coming. The 18-40 wasn't on the list till it's pre-announcement in may.
